Psychodynamic psychotherapy is based on the theory that conflicts and problems experienced in the present have their roots in the past. We learn our ways of relating and our emotional vocabulary from our earliest relationships. These patterns from the past affect our current relationships in ways we are usually unaware of.
Counselling provides a safe and containing environment in which to explore our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. This process allows for the potential to gain new insights into the roots of our behaviour, increasing our perception and awareness, enabling us to change the way we behave towards ourselves and others.
We provide a safe and warm non judgemental environment where your worries will be heard and explored. We will help you to think about how past experiences are linked to present conflicts. Being able to make these links between past experiences and present patterns of behaviour can lead to an increased self awareness and a better understanding of our motivation and behaviour.
